Envato Market Theme on WordPress

Have you been looking for a WordPress theme? Do you want something more professional with support that is not from the WordPress theme market? Let’s install a theme from the Envato market.

Prerequisites

Find a Theme

Go to the Envato market (themeforest.net) and browse for a theme you like. Most if not all themes, require a license. Therefore, buy the theme you found.

Usually, a license allows you to install it on your production server and your test server.

Setup a Theme

Once you bought your theme you can go to your account and select Downloads.
Here you will find a list of all the themes you bought and their licenses. Click on Download and select All files & documentation. Extract the file on your computer.

Go to your WordPress admin area, select Appearance, and click Add New Theme. Now click on Upload Theme and Choose File. Navigate to the folder where you extracted your theme.
Find the zip file that says xxx_theme or just the name of the theme as a zip. Select it and click Install Now.

Once installed make sure to install the plugins required for your theme. Each theme varies with their setup, but usually one of the following options is applicable:

• The plugins can be installed under Appearance – Install Plugins.
• The plugins can be installed via a new option, with the theme name, under the Dashboard option. Here you can find an option named plugins or named similarly.
• The plugins are installed within your theme.
• The plugins come in a separate zip folder when you download the theme. Install them via the Plugins – Add New Plugin.
