How Can We Help?
E1211 Romb batt (Dell PowerEdge 1950)
The Dell PowerEdge 1950 comes with a display, this display is able to show you information but also errors. If you encounter the error E1211 Romb batt, the battery of your RAID controller is not functioning properly.
Solution
It is possible that the server has been laying on a shelf for quite some time. If this is the case, it is recommended to connect a power cable to the power supply and let the battery charge for 48 hours. Keep in mind that you have to keep the server turned off.
Replace battery
If you still encounter the error after letting it recharge, you can decide to replace the battery. In order to do this, shut down the server and disconnect the power cable. Now, open the lid. Looking from the front side of the server the battery is located in between the RAID controller and the drive bays in the front. Unlock the battery and disconnect it from the controller. Now connect the new battery, and put it in place of the old one. Close the lid, and finally boot the server. For a more hands-on tutorial, watch the video from the Sources section.
