How Can We Help?
Dell Precision R5500 Setup
This article explains how you have to set up your Dell Precision R5500 before you are able to install an OS on it.
RAID configuration
To change the RAID configuration boot up the server. Wait until the current RAID configuration shows up and press Ctrl-I. This shows you the RAID configuration menu. If you have an old configuration present, delete this via Delete RAID Volume. If you have done this select Create RAID Volume to create a new configuration. Optionally, you can give the new volume a name. Next up, you have to select which RAID Level you want, this affects the number of usable drives. Now, you are able to select the drives for the configuration using the Space bar. If you are satisfied with the configuration, press Create Volume. This prompts a warning that you will use all the data, enter Y to continue.
