Do you want to add data- and/or resource packs to your Minecraft Server or installation? This article will explain to you how to do that.

Prerequisites

It is assumed that you already have a Minecraft server setup, if not have a look here (wiki.mphslaats.com).

Add Data Pack

Go to vanillatweaks.net, curseforge.com, or your favorite Minecraft website and download your data pack(s).

Add or unzip the data pack(s) to the datapacks folder in your world folder. By default the name of your world is world, however when using a custom world this name may vary.

If the Minecraft server is running you have to run /reload for the changes to take effect.

Add Resource Pack

Go to vanillatweaks.net, curseforge.com, or your favorite Minecraft website and download your resource pack(s).

Put the resource pack on a webserver where it is available for download for everyone, i.e. Google Drive or Dropbox. Copy the sharable link and add it resource-pack in server.properties. Optionally, you can also add the SHA1 under resource-pack-sha1.

A player joining your server will be asked to download the resource pack automagically.
