How Can We Help?
WireGuard on Ubiquiti
Do you want to have a VPN connection to your home network using WireGuard? And do you own a Ubiquiti firewall? This article will explain how to set up WireGuard on a Ubiquiti firewall.
Prerequisites
For this article, it is assumed that you already set up your Ubiquiti firewall, if you didn’t have a look at the article here (wiki.mphslaats.com).
Installation
Login to your Ubiquiti firewall and navigate to Network. In here navigate to Settings and click Teleport & VPN. Click VPN Server and select WireGuard. Optionally, you can tweak the details but we left it at default, once satisfied click Add.

To add a client click Add Client under Clients and give it a name. Before clicking Add make sure to download the configuration file!

Connect to the VPN
To connect to the VPN install WireGuard (wireguard.com) client for your device. Open WireGuard, add the configuration, and click Activate. Take note that for Windows you need administrator rights to run WireGuard since it dynamically creates a network tunnel.
